The word ungandiR means "immune to gand" (gand is a harmful form of sorcery) and is an excerpt from a west Norwegian rune-stone inscription dating back to the migration-period. Some of the inscription appears to be broken off, so the end of the inscription is lost. In its present state, this proto-Scandinavian inscription reads: ek gudija ungandiR ih… and a likely translation of this would be: I (am) the priest/priestess, immune to Gand.

Wardruna Longsleeve with the 'Odin' design printed on front and the Wardruna rune printed on the back. The runic text on the sleeves state the eight skills referred to in Hávamál stanza 144 which is needed to master the runes:
